Identical Differences edition by Erynn Mangum Religion Spirituality eBooks

Alexia Patterson has spent her whole life waiting to get out of small town Longsville, Oregon. Her twin sister, Rachel, is a completely different story. When Rachel calls to tell Lexi that she’s engaged and asks her to come home for a few weeks before the wedding, Lexi is anything but eager to go back to Longsville. Add in Justin MacPherson, a guy she’s hated since junior high, and the two weeks are not looking good. Surely God’s plan isn’t to make Lexi insane, right?

All Alexia ever wanted to do was escape the small town she grew up in, so when her twin gets engaged, Alexia is happy for her but not so thrilled about coming back to the past she tried to leave behind. When she meets the best man, Justin, the guy she hated since junior high, Alexia is just ready for the festivities to be over, so she can escape back to her real life....before she realizes her heart never left. This is a cute novella, but I never felt connected to the main character Alexia or understood her reasons for hating Justin. Erynn Mangum has written several of these novellas and was able to develop the characters well enough in the short story. However, Alexia has more layers that need more time development than just a novella. She's an intriguing character, but her change of heart felt rushed and her character stilted. In fact, I enjoyed her twin more than her and would have liked to read their story.
As usual, Mangum delivers a fun story with coffee, family dynamics, and spiritual truths. Although this isn't my favorite Mangum novella, it was a sweet read that would have been better as a full-length novel.

Identical Differences edition by Erynn Mangum Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I really enjoyed this book. Predictable as ever but sweet, funny and romantic. Anyone who enjoys a light read, nothing inappropriate and a light romance will love any of Erynn Mangums books.
Once again this author needs to come up with a different storyline. She has talent and humor but lacks imagination. It's the same story over and over, just different names and towns.
I haven’t read a book of Erynn Mangum’s I didn’t like. This one being a Novella is simply not my favorite because the story has to end so quickly. I have to guess what happens next.
Firstly, I love Erynn Mangum's writing. I own every book and novella she has written and rarely take more than a day or two to read them.
But...
I have to say I am not thrilled with her novellas. They are too short with predictable characters and even more predictable love stories. If you have read more than one of Mangum's books you will be able to guess who ends up with who in the first few pages. Usually this is ok because a novel brings enough twists and laughs into it to overlook that fact, even more so with her trilogies.
This book was not long enough for me to feel that the character was believable, she wasn't as likeable and it was all WAY too fast.
So, in short (pun intended), this is a sugary story line but don't expect the same as what her novels are.

Identical Differences is short novella by Erynn Mangum. Just like with other books and novella's that she writes you are laughing from the very beginning of the book. I enjoy Erynn's novels. They are what I pick up when I need a good laugh and pick me up. Identical Differences is no different. I can't wait till May 2013 when Erynn's new book comes out. It's the first book in a new series. Paige Torn by Erynn Mangum
I'm definitely an Erynn Mangum fan and was looking forward to curling up with this story for a fun afternoon read. I enjoyed it, but didn't connect quite as much with Alexia as I had with her other main characters, We were repeatedly told that she couldn't wait to get out of Longsville, but I never really understood exactly why. Would also have enjoyed more info on her parents - I know it's tough to cram all of that into a novella, but even a few well-placed sentences would have been great.
This is typical of Erynn Mangum's novellas. Lots of dialog between likable characters who joke with each other and by the end there is a very cute coupling. It's sweet, but not syrupy, and her sense of humor generally makes me laugh. Great for a light pick-me-up.
There is one minor thing that I want to mention only because it bugs me. I've read most of her books and unless I'm remembering wrong, there has been at least one scene in each of them where one character eats off another's fork, plate or in this case brownie. I don't think I'm in the minority to think that is gross. I'd really like to see one of her characters say, "No, thanks. I prefer my food without someone else's saliva."
