I love all of George Gamow's books. But I am a little bit more ambivalent about the works of Igor Gamow. Having said that, I must confess I liked this one ... and actually learned some biology.Here is something that puzzles me though: why is Darwin always shown so creepy? And what is the purpose of the nature goddess shown clinging to him?
At the heart of my "reservations" is this: I think anyone who has a genuine and developing interest in science does not need gags and buffoonery to hold their attention ... but then again, maybe that's required for the very young. As they progress they will require less gags and buffoonery.
